7 Tuesdays, 6:30pm-8:30pm: 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/1, 3/8.
In this seven-week class, participants will craft a personal essay about an aspect of their sexual experience. Beyond simply telling the narrative of what happened, we will work to build strong connective tissue between individual sexual stories and the larger questions about sex that our culture is grappling with.
After completing several writing prompts, participants will turn in an essay for workshopping. Then, for the final week of the course, participants will revise the essay based on the feedback they received. Writers should expect to read several published essays each week, works that will inform how we think about the role of research and essaying in narrative sexual storytelling. Writers should also expect to read and comment on essays by their peers.
The cost of this course includes a one-page manuscript review letter by the instructor and follow-up comments on the revision.
